The number on a package often describes only one part of the bait. A Texas rig adds sinker, hook, plastic, peg, and hardware. A popping cork adds cork, weight, swivel, leader, hook, and bait. An umbrella rig adds arms, snaps, blades, jigheads, and several plastics.

Add every piece before matching the setup to a rod. If the finished assembly is outside the published range, change the rig or choose another rod. A legal sinker weight does not make an overloaded rig legal.
