Choose Core when one of the locked rods fits the complete payload, lure resistance, hook, cover, line, length, action, handle, and way you fish. Choose Custom when an important part of that job falls outside the fixed catalog.

Custom is not simply a more expensive Core rod. It is the answer when access needs a different length, your hand needs a different grip, the reel and line need a particular guide train, or the technique and target fish create a load the catalog does not cover cleanly. Bring the finished rig and real fishing conditions to the consultation. The goal is to solve the problem, not force a sale.
