Core Series S721 | The Hair-Trigger Finesse Specialist

6' | UL | Mod-Fast | 2–6 lb | 1/32–3/16 oz | Spinning

The Hair-Trigger Flex

The S721 is engineered for the delicate demands of micro-finesse fishing, where detecting a phantom peck and protecting micro-wire hooks are the difference between a landed fish and a missed bite. Built on a 45-Million Modulus Toray High-Modulus Carbon Fiber blank with a Nano-Resin matrix system — optimized for impact resistance and high toughness to eliminate the brittleness associated with high-modulus graphite — this rod features a hyper-responsive, featherweight tip section. The moderate-fast action provides a flawless, progressive loading profile. When a panfish or trout slaps a tiny jig, the tip yields instantly to eliminate lure resistance, while the blank absorbs the shock of the fight so small hooks never tear out of soft, paper-thin mouths.

Featherweight Performance. Crisp Recovery.

At 6 feet even, this blank is a lightweight precision instrument designed for surgical casting accuracy in tight spaces. Outfitted with premium cork full grips, this handle setup offers a timeless look and an incredibly connected feel — transmitting the faint vibrations of a drifting micro-tube, a turning blade, or a subtle current seam directly into your hands with absolute clarity.

The S721 isn't a floppy novelty stick — it is your ultimate light-line precision tool. It is engineered to turn the most delicate, subtle strikes into landed fish without sacrificing the crisp control needed to handle surprising tournament-sized catches.

Primary Techniques
  • Crappie & Panfish Jigs — high-modulus sensitivity to feel a crappie breathe on a 1/32 oz hair jig or tube, with a soft flex that keeps panfish pinned
  • Dock Shooting for Crappie — the 6' length and UL power are purpose-built for skipping tiny jigs deep under floating docks where slab crappie suspend; the Mod-Fast tip absorbs the shock of a hard-charging slab on light line
  • Micro-Flipping Under Low-Hanging Limbs — the compact length and featherweight tip allow precise underhand presentations into tight, overgrown pockets that longer rods can't reach
  • Freshwater Trout Presentations — perfect casting arc and crisp tip recovery to launch tiny inline spinners, spoons, or micro-crankbaits across mountain streams and creeks
  • Finesse Plastics & Micro-Baits — ideal tracking and control for micro-drop shots, tiny split-shot rigs, and weightless micro-worms when targeting highly pressured waters
What Else This Rod Can Do

S721 — 6' UL Mod-Fast Spinning. The Micro Weapon.

Freshwater Techniques

  • Light-Line Bass: An exceptional challenge tool for targeting spooky, finicky largemouth or smallmouth on ultra-light Ned rigs, micro-jigs, or tiny floating bugs in highland reservoirs and ponds.
  • Yellow Perch & Bluegill: Unmatched bite detection and bait manipulation when dragging live bait or small plastics over deep grass transitions and rocky bottoms.
  • Stream & Creek Stalking: The perfect compact length for navigating tight, overgrown banks where overhead branches block longer rods.

Inshore Saltwater Techniques

  • Micro-Inshore Crossover: Highly capable of handling ultra-light fun tactics for small bait thieves around dock pilings, or targeting species like spot, croaker, and sand trout on micro-jigs.
Borderline & Conditional Techniques
  • Ned Rigs: Standard Ned rigs with full-sized plastics typically total 1/4 oz or more — this overloads the 3/16 oz ceiling of this blank. Keep strictly to micro-Ned options under 3/16 oz total weight. The S721 is not a substitute for the SJ842 on standard Ned Rig applications.
  • Overloaded Payloads & Heavy Presentations: The S721 Ultra-Light power and 3/16 oz ceiling are a hard limit — not a suggestion. Any presentation exceeding 3/16 oz total payload — including split shot, jig head, and plastic combined — will overload this blank and compromise tip sensitivity, casting accuracy, and hook protection on light-wire hooks. Do not use this rod for standard finesse bass techniques. Use the SJ842 for 1/8–1/2 oz applications and the SJ843 for anything heavier.
