Custom Rod Builds
Built to your spec. Not off a shelf.
How It Works
A TCR custom build starts with a conversation — not a payment. Before any money changes hands, we review your request, discuss your specifications and component options, and approve the project together. You don't pay a deposit until TCR has reviewed and approved your build.
Every custom-build request is reviewed individually. Final pricing depends on the approved components, design, and performance requirements. Submitting a consultation request does not guarantee that TrashCan Rodz will accept the project or be able to meet the requested budget.
Once the project is approved, a minimum 50% deposit is required before components are ordered or fabrication begins. The remaining balance is due upon completion and before your rod ships. Shipping time is separate from build time.
Pricing
Final pricing depends on the approved components, design, and performance requirements. A price is provided only after your specifications and component availability have been reviewed and approved together.
Lead Times and Delivery
No lead time, completion date, or delivery date is guaranteed on a custom build. Every project is different, and timelines depend on component availability, build complexity, and current workload.
If you have a firm need-by date, disclose it before you pay. We'll tell you honestly whether it's realistic. Disclosing a date does not guarantee we can meet it — but we will always tell you where things stand.
Changes and Cancellations
Any changes to an approved build require written approval from TCR and may affect both price and timing. We will never materially substitute a component without your approval. If a component becomes unavailable and no acceptable substitute exists, and TCR cannot complete the approved build as specified, any unspent funds will be refunded.
Deposits become nonrefundable once components have been ordered or fabrication has begun. Cancellations requested before that point are refunded minus any nonrecoverable costs already incurred.
Payment Options
The standard payment structure is a 50% deposit to begin, with the remaining balance due upon completion and before shipment. Custom-build deposits cannot be financed.
Installment payments, when available and approved, may be used only for payment of the full approved custom-build price in a single transaction. Customers selecting the deposit option must pay the remaining balance upon completion and before shipment.
Shop Pay Installments may be available at checkout for eligible customers. Availability and approval are determined by Affirm at checkout and are not guaranteed. TrashCan Rodz does not control approval decisions.
